Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) from premium fashion, gift and accessories retail operators as part of a A$40m (US$29.7m) redevelopment of its Domestic Terminal at Brisbane Airport, Australia.
The RFP covers 18 concessions across the Level 2 departures area, each measuring between 35m2 (377ft2) and 204m2 (2,195ft2). These key locations will be complemented by a number of new food and beverage offers including iconic restaurants and bars along the glass overlooking the tarmac, plus a modern refurbished Qantas café court. The RFP will close at 16:00pm AEST on August 30, 2018.
BAC completed stage one of the retail redevelopment to the Domestic Terminal in June 2016, with a A$15m (US$11m) upgrade of the Virgin area. This saw the introduction of 19 new retail concessions including an upgraded food and beverage offering.
In January 2019, BAC will assume entire operational control across the terminal to create a single terminal with common systems. This transition will be the catalyst for stage two including a A$40m (US$29.7m) upgrade of the Domestic Terminal and retail offerings in the northern (Qantas end) and central areas of the terminal.
Works are scheduled to commence in late 2018 and when complete will deliver 51 new and refurbished stores with new retail offers, taking the total retail shops in the terminal to 70 outlet.
